Our instruction was to come up with a building to be used as a casual area accessible from the kitchen. Specifically it needed to look different from the ‘run of the mill’ and needed to be sympathetic to the period property in a conservation area

The floor level in the house was much higher than ground level and it was decided to use a concrete block and beam construction using cellotex insulation and finished with a 70mm screed. Steps were needed to get down to the newly formed patio area.
